As a professional artist, my first experience with curating was with my own work. I was blessed with the second opportunity when I was presented with the Annual Pride London Festival Art Exhibit as co-founder of the organization, where I was able to produce exhibits in public, nonprofit, artist run, and commercial galleries; develop the annual event into a provincially recognized juried exhibition; include an international component in 2011; and, successfully develop a team of other professionals to lead the committee into the future. This then lead to the regionalist exhibition and catalogue at the Woodstock Art Gallery in 2013 entitled Inventive Women: Re-Interpreting the Canadian Landscape and featuring five regionalist women artist – Christine Brandon, Mooretown/Espanola; Josy Britton, Grand Bend; Rebecca Gillen, Woodstock/Ailsa Craig; E. Ruth Strebe, London; and, Isabella Stefanescu, Kitchener, along with the historical landscape work of Florence Carlyle. I continue to pursue curatorial opportunities.
